Exchanging US currency for Mexican

  • When and where do you recommend exchanging US currency for Mexican?

Exchange CurrencyYou may want to bring a little with you from the States just for any emergencies that might occur before you get to the Lakeside area. It’s always best to be prepared! However, if you get in early enough (no delays), we will take you by SuperLake (a grocery store in the area) where you can exchange traveler’s checks or money. SuperLake has one of the best exchange rates in the area. Since we go to Guadalajara the next day, it’s good to have extra pesos (even though a lot of shops in the Tlaquepaque area accept credit cards). Also, if something happens and your plane arrives late, we can also stop at an Exchange House in Guadalajara to exchange money. We suggest you bring at least $300 with you for incidentals during the eight days that you’re here. By the way, you should inform your credit card company that you are going to Mexico.
