Imagine golfing 365
days a year, and at very reasonable prices!
Talk about living the
dream.
For genuine golf junkies, there's nothing like retirement.
With your schedule cleared of the 9-to-5 grind, you're finally free to pass the
days as you always wished: taking extra swings at the driving range, lining up
that perfect putt on the 18th hole, and enjoying the fresh-cut grass and
sunshine.
Lake Chapala, with its low humidity and
near-perfect
weather, has the second-best climate in the world, according to National
Geographic, after Nairobi, Kenya. And Lake Chapala (the largest lake in
Mexico) is on the same latitude as Hawaii which blesses the area with
every plant species Hawaii has. The flowers, trees and plants, along
with waterfalls, mountains and thermal
springs are redolent of Hawaii’s appeal.
“The many activities and a sense of community made Lake
Chapala attractive for us, and good golf weather year round is a definite
plus.I have always wanted to live where one could practice golf shots before
breakfast, and at Lake Chapala the climate is so delightful that one can play
golf every day in the year, where it’s never too hot and never too cold, and it
does occasionally rain during the day but most times at night." ~Randall Coburn
Few locations in the world can rival Lake Chapala,
Mexico for ideal year-round golfing conditions. For everyone who loves
to golf, but is stopped by
the weather, temperature or your location—Lake Chapala is for you! I
think Ray
has been stopped from golfing only once or twice during his almost 15
years
here.
In the winter, the average daily high is over 70 degrees
with very little wind even in the coldest months. Some members even play the
course year round in shorts.
Golf courses in Guadalajara remain open all
through the year, with the constant warm, sunny weather being a big part of the
golfing popularity in the Mexican state of Jalisco. Most of the main golf
courses surround Guadalajara itself. However, within the city environs you will
find the Guadalajara Country Club, which although being a private club it is
often possible to play a round.
Nearby, the El Palomar Country Club is a relatively new
addition to Guadalajara's golfing scene and is known for its beautiful scenery
and peaceful setting. Close to the airport, golfers will also enjoy swinging
their golf clubs at the Atlas Country Club.

Life is Like a Round of Golf
Posted in December 2nd, 2009
by Jon Leland in golf, golf quotes
Life is like a Round of Golf
Life is like a round of golf
With many a turn and twist.
But the game is much too sweet and short
To curse the shots you’ve missed.
Sometimes you’ll hit it straight and far
Sometimes the putts roll true.
But each round has it’s errant shots
And troubles to play through.
So always swing with courage
No matter what the lie.
And never let the hazards
Destroy the joy inside.
And keep a song within your heart
Give thanks that you can play.
For the round is much too short and sweet
To let it slip away.
— Criswell Freeman
