Use White-listing to Make Sure You Get Your Focus On Mexico newsletters and other important e-mails
Unsolicited, unwanted advertising e-mail, commonly known as "spam", has become a large problem. Because of this, most virus protectors, e-mail services and Internet Service Providers (ISPs) have put some sort of blocking or filtering system in place to send emails they think are spam to a junk or trash folder. In some cases they do not even let you know it was sent to you (especially in the case of virus protectors.)
We at Focus On Mexico applaud their intention to protect you from spam, but the current systems for stopping spam are not a perfect solution. They often block e-mail that you've requested, but that fits their idea of spam. For that reason, you might unexpectedly find you're not getting your Focus On Mexico newsletters and other important e-mails.
To make sure that you can receive our email, you can "white-list" email from Focus On Mexico. White-listing means that you set up your email software to accept incoming email from a specific email address or domain, overriding your mail service provider's SPAM filter.
These instructions may not be complete, but, below are instructions for some of the more popular ones. If yours isn't here, please contact your ISP's customer service representatives for their instructions.
One thing you can do that helps no matter what e-mail system you're using is: add the address in the "From" line of your most recent Focus On Mexico e-mail to your address book.
Focus On Mexico uses several email addresses for communication with users. Therefore, the most effective way to make sure that you receive our email is to whitelist the entire domain. Depending on the exact email service or program you are using, whitelisting a domain may be done by entering something like one of the following:
focusonmexico.com
@focusonmexico.com
*focusonmexico.com
However since email providers change their specifications often, it is suggested that you contact you specific provider for instructions on whitelisting a domain. In the event that your email service or program cannot white-list entire domains,
we would suggest you add these individual addresses to your whitelist:
newsletterteam@focusonmexico.com
thefocusteam@focusonmexico.com
info@focusonmexico.com
Since every email system is different we have included white-listing instructions
