Hope House (home for boys in Lake Chapala, Mexico) NEEDS YOUR HELP!
Currently, there are 17 boys in the HOPE HOUSE orphanage and the staff’s greatest hope is to provide a bicycle for each boy for Christmas. For security and safety reasons, they need to purchase 24 bicycles in total in order to have the adult team ride with the boys. Each bicycle is approximately $100 (US equivalent).
If you want to help make one of these boy’s dreams come true, go to HOPE HOUSE website where you can pay through PayPal. HOPE HOUSE has the 501(c)(3) designation, which makes your donation eligible for a tax benefit, both in the United States and Canada. Designate your donation “Christmas.” Any money received over and above the cost for bikes will be used for meeting the needs of the boys in other ways.

Rich and Meme moved to Lake Chapala a couple of years ago; they are missionaries, have hearts of gold and their contribution in our area is heart-warming and extremely appreciated by the whole community.
Meme is also the liaison for the newly created Lake Chapala Foundation which oversees all the charities in the Lake Chapala area. Their operations are entirely transparent and highly regulated.
Focus on Mexico is proud to have Meme as one of our Expert Guest speakers during our Focus On Mexico 8-Day Educational programs. On our November 6, 2008, Focus Program, several of our participants generously donated funds to purchase bicycles for some of these boys. We are so blessed to attract such wonderful people on our programs. They make our job a true joy.

Dear Karen,
Here are the pictures of the boys that you requested. However, I can’t send you a picture of one bicycle or even a broken bicycle, because we have none! Knowing your group of people, I know they will respond, so I want you to assure everyone that any money collected over and above the cost of the 24 bicycles will be used to directly bless and affect the boys’ environment in a positive way (this can be anything from money for meat meals to electrical repair, playground equipment, new shoes, warm coats to building a workshop for the boys to learn wood trades…so many wonderful things!). This is so exciting…it will be the best Christmas they have EVER had!! Thank you!
